A Short Story About Us

Steve Hankins and Ross McKenzie, both based with their families in Kansas City, MO, have been good friends for many years. While busy with full time jobs, they recognized a mutual interest in creating children's books combining Steve's creative writing hobby and Ross's talents in illustration. Their first project together, "Pete the Pigeon", was created as a birthday gift for Steve's three-year-old niece, and is based on a real pigeon who graced his in-laws' family farm in rural Nebraska! They opted to create additional titles from there and a new venture was born.
